What a story
Michelle Williams was the perfect choice to read this, as she gave an incredibly empathetic, compassionate and compelling brevity to what is ultimately quite a dark story. She elevates the writing with a thoughtful performance. To be clear: the story itself is incredible and the writing is very honest, albeit it rambles or starts to get somewhat repetitive and is also very colloquial in its tone. This is not a great work of literature but is an incredible achievement all the same.
