Good solid story telling.
I really enjoyed this, Great narration but for one word, Sigil. I tried to pretend ‘siggle’ was just a part of this world but it annoyed me every time. Anyway apart from that it was excellent, and I look forward to the next one (just please fix that one word!)

Maybe 3.5 rather than 4 stars.
Some interesting ideas, but it has a descided YA feel. Oh the unfairness of it all!
The pronunciation of “sigil” really grated, and it has to be one of the most used words in the book.
