Publisher's Summary
David is a golden boy, a good man, a good son and brother in his Vietnamese family, a good adoptive son in his wealthy Australian family, a good boyfriend and, most of all, a good doctor. But when the miracle drug he invents brings to life the one dark secret of his past, it threatens David’s future and that of those he loves. Is what happens next a tragic death or a clever murder? That’s what David’s friends, family and foes must work out...at the same time as each schemes to conceal their involvement.
There's David's lab assistant, the Italian immigrant Rosa; his childhood friend, Miles; his girlfriend, animal activist Abigail; his sister, Natalie, who observes so much in her nail bar; Foxy, 'fixer' to the high society 1 percenters when their businesses or kids go wrong; and the elusive David himself. But who will take the blame?
Narrated by these six characters, who all have their parts to play in David’s downfall, Eight Lives will keep you puzzling to the end....
A brilliant debut that will draw you into the little-known world of high-stakes drug development, Eight Lives is a spellbinding exploration of power, class and a family's struggle to survive.

Scientific shenanigans
A lot of scientific detail ( which I was ok with given my background). Very interesting with the events described from different perspectives.

Brilliant story – definitely worth listening to
This is such a good book. Hard to say well enough how good it is. Truly a 10/10.
Except for the person reading ‘Foxy’, excellent performances by all readers. The volume the Foxy character used varied considerably and made hearing it at times impossible. This was not a problem for any other characters so it was not the audiobook per se, just the reader of that character. Need to produce a consistent volume as a reader in an audiobook while still playing in character.
