Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The highly anticipated sequel to 12 Rules for Life, which has sold over five million copies around the world.
In 12 Rules for Life, acclaimed public thinker and clinical psychologist Jordan B. Peterson offered an antidote to the chaos in our lives: eternal truths applied to modern anxieties. His insights have helped millions of people and resonated powerfully around the world.
Now in this long-awaited sequel, Peterson goes further, showing that part of life's meaning comes from reaching out into the domain beyond what we know and adapting to an ever-transforming world. While an excess of chaos threatens us with uncertainty, an excess of order leads to a lack of curiosity and creative vitality. Beyond Order therefore calls on us to balance the two fundamental principles of reality - order and chaos - and reveals the profound meaning that can be found on the path that divides them.
In times of instability and suffering, Peterson reminds us that there are sources of strength on which we can all draw: insights borrowed from psychology, philosophy and humanity's greatest myths and stories. Drawing on the hard-won truths of ancient wisdom, as well as deeply personal lessons from his own life and clinical practice, Peterson offers 12 new principles to guide listeners towards a more courageous, truthful and meaningful life.

Helps me so much
I was in so much pain before reading this book. I was so much pain while reading this book. Inevitably, I will most likely be in pain when I wake up in the morning some time from now but I have nonetheless a renewed strength and courage to keep having a crack at it. I am trying my best to keep my head above the waves and enduring the suffering while improving my ability to withstand it and act virtuously in spite of it but it is by no means easy especially when you feel at a loss. That is why I am so grateful for JBP books 🙂

More impacting than his first book.
This book hits hard. It made me profoundly uncomfortable and I wanted to turn it off several times as I felt the conviction of his words. He held a mirror up to my soul and forced me to look at it, and though I wanted to turn it off I also knew I should not look away. But now that it’s finished I realise the power of the book, because it would be good to just write a review and get back to life. Instead I must now take what I’ve leaned and live it. I have set a date to listen to the book later in the year so I can hold myself accountable. Peterson’s words disturbed me enough to want to be a better man.
