Publisher's Summary
Shane and Callie must push their training to the limit for the Moonsong Glade tournament.
Victorious but weary after the battle for Starburst Pavilion, Shane and his team return home to Valen. It’s there they see just how far they’ve come since they first became Ascendants.
But the vacation can’t last forever. The Moonsong Glade tournament will pit them against the strongest young Ascendants in the star system. The prize is access to the legendary Moonsong Glade, a source of immense power.
On the galactic scale, their planet is a backwater, but Shane and his companions are determined to distinguish their team as a dark horse. They journey to Doomtown, a lawless dark district in the Wish Curse Palace favored by the scions of powerful factions. There they hone themselves on deadly challenges, forge unexpected alliances—And uncover secrets that could change the course of the tournament.
Shane's journey continues in book 5 of Wish Upon the Stars, a series featuring a weak to strong protagonist with limitless potential in a futuristic LitRPG setting featuring a crunchy, unique progression system. Perfect for fans of The Path of Ascension and He Who Fights with Monsters.

the story has stayed away from is original claim of an MC with a unique skill to master. it has instead turned intuition a slice of life story about a boy who can’t go one paragraph without gushing about his girlfriend in the most “is starting to get creepy” way. we get it, she’s hot. we get it. grow tfu and become a wish master because as it currently stands, I care very little about this MC or his destination. 5 books deep and has rarely explored or experiment the possible capabilities of his talent.

Honestly I really like the world and the characters. It is a good story and a fun premise.
However, I have 2 issues.
1. They need to explore the wider world more. While they encounter people from other factions, we don’t learn anything about them or the wider world. We spend a lot of time on mundane training and could be moving the story along faster.
2. The romance is a bit simple. Mostly it is just Solomon saying how lucky he is, and then being affectionate. They are not moving their relationship along. True they got more serious in the book but 80% of the parts about their relationship didn’t move the needle. I am fine if their relationship is a major theme, but move it along.
