I enjoyed this book so much more than the last in the series and yet it flows on straight from Winterkeep. Maybe this wasn’t as annoying in terms of characters and lots of new modern things all at once. It’s really just about survival and hope. It’s about finding the wind in your sails and loving telepathic foxes. Bitterblues sister is POV throughout and I like her, although sometimes she droned on a bit (really introspective)! I didn’t think there was any great chemistry between her and her love interest but that’s ok – Giddon was still around for the reader’s crush factor. Narrator was good as usual – but some accents are again questionable.

Beautiful, tragic, poignant.
I’m so glad that Kristin is writing more amazing stories in the Graceling universe.

Survivor story with foxes!
